Voronovo City is a development strategy for an area, located in a countryside, far from current municipal centers. There was a strong need to create a self-contained territory with all the features of a town as there was no option to get affordable infrastructure to integrate it into the nearest cities network.
Our work resulted in a sophisticated plan that envisions the creation of all basic functions of a town.
This project opens new opportunities for programming the future life of inhabitants of a town created from scratch.
Departing from decades-established practice of founding towns close to regional centres, the project approach taken here supposes the creation of such a structure that would be capable of maintaining the settlement’s full independence of the megalopolis. Its location on territories annexed to Moscow in 2012, coupled with its considerable distance from the MKAD ring road (30 km), dictate that the site be regarded as a self-sufficient urban formation, and present the opportunity to develop a new standard for quality of life, enjoying independence from and a competitive capability with regard to the historical territory of Moscow.
The new town that will respond to the most up to date demands in engineering, ecology, safety and transport.
